Northwest Pentecostal Assembly was founded in 1993 by Pastor George Feller. He grew up as an atheist and accepted Jesus on December 24, 1968. George and Moyra both grew up in Crowsnest Pass and they married on October 28, 1972. They had three children: Nathan, Naomi and Jeremy.
He graduated from North Central Bible college in Minneapolis, Minnesota in May 1972 with a degree in Bible and Pastoral Studies. He went on to receive his Masters of Divinity and then pastored in Empress for two and a half years and Edson for three years. In June 1993, he received his Doctorate of Ministry Degree.
Dr. George Feller was a professor and dean of students at Northwest Bible College (now Vanguard College). He felt a desire to plant a church and after much research, in June of 1993, he received approval from the district. After months of prayer, in September they started to rent St. Timothy’s Catholic School. 63 people attended the first service on September 5, 1993.
